Sara Weinberg, M.S., L.Ac, Chinese Medicine

About Sara Weinberg MS., L.Ac.

I obtained my Master's Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from ACTCM, American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in San Sara Weinberg MS., L.Ac.Francisco, California in 1995 and was licensed by the State of California and the National Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 1996.

Since that time, I have studied and added Microcurrent Therapy to my skills. This latest development in the field of Chinese medicine allows me to offer needle-free, painless therapy to treat chronic and acute pain. This modality also provides excellent results with cosmetic enhancements, and can be delivered without needles. In my ongoing quest to provide painless acupuncture, I continue to develop the Japanese acupuncture techniques, I learned when I studied in Sendai, Japan in 1993.

I also have extensive training and experience in treating drug and alcohol abuse. I opened my own detoxification clinic in San Anselmo, California and worked for four years in the San Francisco County Jails treating men and women afflicted with addiction.

In 1999, I furthered my substance abuse treatment expertise through becoming certified by NADA, National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. In this vein, I also worked at the SAGE Project, a San Francisco mental health and drug recovery agency where I became a clinical director and expanded the acupuncture services that were offered there. While there, I also took part in the general management and delivery of services, developed a Hepatitis C education and treatment program, and gave numerous trainings and lectures on treatment of the following conditions: Hepatitis C, HIV, Codependency, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Over the years I have augmented my expertise with certifications in Dietary Counseling (Bauman College), Reiki Master Training, Hepatitis C Treatment (Quan Yin Healing Arts Center), and PTSD treatment with Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine of Foundation for Human Enrichment).

Today, I employ the above techniques, experience and training to serve clients in my private practice in Berkeley, California.
