About Sara Weinberg MS., L.Ac.
I completed a 4 academic year Masters level program at ACTCM in San Francisco afte a short period of study in Sendai, Japan in 1993. I received my Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, in 1995, and was licensed by the State of California and certified nationally by the NCCAOM in Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Asian Bodywork (Dipl. OM) in 1996.
Public Sector Work - 1996 to 2004
I opened an acupuncture detoxification clinic in San Anselmo, CA. I worked for four years in the San Francisco County Jails and a number of mental health agencies treating men and women afflicted with addiction and addiction-related ailments. I was hired as a Clinical Director for the SAGE Project, Inc., a nonprofit dual-diagnosis organization in San Francisco that operated a commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) intervention program. I helped provide general management and delivery of services, expanded acupuncture services, developed a Hepatitis C education and treatment program and gave numerous trainings and lectures to recovery communities on the following: Hepatitis C, HIV, Codependency, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
I am so fortunate to have been included in the healing process of many courageous people in their admirable struggle to know themselves more deeply and salvage their lives from the ravages of addiction, poverty and marginalization from mainstream society.
Private Practice
2008 to present day, Berkeley, CA
Post Graduate Certifications
The services I offer are a result of 27 years of post-graduate multidisciplinary study that yielded extra certifications, in the following fields: Reiki Training – Master level, Dietary Counseling, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (for PTSD relief), NADA (addiction relief), Hep C treatment, Orthopedic Acupuncture (AKA dry-needling), Traditional Chinese Feng Shui.
In recent years, I have expanded my studies into the areas of ancient Chinese metaphysics, Chinese History, philosophy and mantic arts and now offer Chinese Astrology (Zi Wei Dou Shu) and Western Evolutionary Astrology readings.
I am a long time student of Daoism and was ordained, in 2022, as a 23rd generation QuanZhen LongMen Daoist Priest by Parting Clouds Temple Organization. Parting Clouds is recognized as a temple by Zhang MengXin, the abbess at the Jian Fu Gong temple at QingCheng Mountain in mainland China.
The study of Chinese Medicine has inspired, in me, a genuine, insatiable curiosity and taken me on a meandering road of learning and service to others. I want to acknowledge that Chinese medicine including modernized “dry needling” is and always has been a cultural product of China and the non-Chinese Asian diaspora. I owe a debt of gratitude to my many teachers who shared their information generously and unguardedly. It has enriched my life far beyond my career.
